about

Laura Hill

has been painting since she could hold a brush, and began apprenticing with her neighbor in traditional watercolor techniques at age 12. Since then, she has painted murals in Illinois, studied in Tuscany, taught in San Diego, explored new mediums, and filled her palette with other skills including writing, set design, dog training, and more. Her paintings have been featured in short films, advertisements, plays, cafes, bathrooms, and above the water bowl of David Muir’s dog.

Laura’s work deals with consumerism, surrealism, and the specific flavor of melancholy found in nature and afternoons. She’s passionate about knocking art off its pedestal and into the hands and homes of everyday people. She is currently painting in Brooklyn.
